VOS is a clear and almost colorless fluid with a typical smell(MEKO), The product readily undergoes hydrolysis upon contact with moisutre. The product is used as a crosslinker in the maufacturing of 1-part neutral cure silicone sealants.VOS is typically used in combination with MOS to fine tune the cure profile of the sealant in order to provide crack resistant properties. Sealant formulations containing only VOS as the crosslinker can cure relatively well without Tin catalyst. Hence, VOS is also used in sealant applications where Tin-free products are required.
