Osthole is extracted from the natural medicinal herb Cnidium monnieri. It is also found in several other plants. Osthole is a kind of new herbal pesticide with the features of high efficiency, low toxicity and environment-friendly.

As an insecticide, it is mainly contact poison and some stomach toxicity. It works on the nerve center of insect. It is good in controlling cabbage worm, aphids, cotton boll worm, tea geometrid and some other caterpillars.
